About me

How do you even start an about me page... I'm sat here thinking, what would people like to know about me...

So, I'll start with the basics, my name is Mel, I am 36, I live in Manchester and I am mother to the most vibrant and self assured, two year old red head. I have an irrational fear of spiders, I once jumped out of a plane and I love long walks and deep and meaningful talks with, well anyone really.

I birthed our lovely daughter on the throne at home (on purpose), and it was a powerful, positive experience, which I didn't actually think was possible. It's one of the main reasons I teach hypnobirthing now, as both myself and my partner Gareth believe the skills gained, things you learn and mindset practice, can be invaluable to pregnant women and their birth partners.

I am a creative cat that, by nature, likes to help people. I am fascinated by psychology and love to get to the route of peoples mindset challenges. So, for a long time I have worked with people who have the same values as me, doing marketing and copywriting for good people, who do good things.

I've always known I wanted to help people directly, specifically those who can benefit from a little 'self empowerment', and in the last few years I started training to do just that. So ...

- I recently became an accredited hypnobirthing teacher with Abby, at Love Your Birth Teacher training
- I'm studying to be a counsellor with the Training Academy, which I am absolutely loving.
- I've just joined the amazing team of Pelvic Partnership volunteers. .
- I gained a distinction in the People, work and society access course with the Open University last year.
- I am a freelance copywriter for people who do good things, for good people.

Helping people really is a calling for me, so, if you've found me and you would like me to help you release your fears of pregnancy and feel positive and confident about birth, please do touch. I can't (but I will!) wait.
